FAMILY MEDIATION
Embracing the uniqueness of every family and individual.

THE PROCESS
Mediation is about talking to each other and, where you may disagree or find it hard to say something, your mediator is there to help you. It is usual for people undergoing mediation to also engage a solicitor in the background to give them the legal advice they need before agreeing to a final settlement. Your solicitor will be able to tell you if the settlement you have agreed within mediation will be acceptable to the court. As a solicitor/mediator we can guide you on this but we cannot advise you in a legal capacity. It is not our job as a mediator to tell you the answers or to give legal advice. The same principle applies to areas such as financial advice, pension advice and emotional support. We can put you in touch with professionals who can advise you specifically in these areas. It is our job to facilitate a discussion and to help you find a solution.
